Getting ready to buy a new tent this weekend. Stumbled on to the episodes. Didn't know anything going in but feel like an expert coming out. Was going to buy a two man tent like Cr0cket20 uses in his vids but? then realized the size. The buddy I'm going camping with has a lot of heat coming off his body and it'll be in the Ozarks in August. I think you saved me a week long suffering my friend. lol. Thanks for the information. It seems the only tent I can find that suits? all of my needs (40+ sq. ft./full rain? fly/>8 lbs.) is the Coleman Hooligan 2. I really do not like the bright orange fly though. Anyone know of an alternative to the Hooligan 2 that doesn't have a bright colored fly??

Watching these again I notice the stakes. I am sure someone has said it already,? but 10 penny nails are cheap and nearly invincible. Really useful if you are already out and your stakes fail. Every hardware store and many ranger stations have them. So excited, I get to tour through southeast Tucson in mid March. Watching your videos really pumps me up. Makes waiting almost bearable.

Just wanted to let you know how helpful I found this series. I'm quite new to tents but these vids have laid out some basic ground rules I can follow when researching different choices. It's a shame that these vids aren't as popular because I'd love to see more varied stuff like this from TNP but hey, just so you know, I found this absolutely invaluable. Your? way of describing things just clicks in my head and I feel like I totally understand whatever you're talking about. Thank you Nutn.

AMAZING REVIEW!! it is 2011 now, but it is a matter of learning the basics and using that knowledge later on. Even during the "growing/advancing" technology, you will be able to make the right decision when buying tent. You just need someone to educate you. Another great series of vids. I've been? researching tent options and this series was extremely helpful. We're in Bear Country too but don't have a good security dog like Ally. (we've got 2 killer toy poodles) lol. What do you guys know about truck top tents? I like the idea of being up high, but don't know how they'll hold up to the wind. What do you guys think or know about them? Thanks for any advice, Michelle :) link to what we're considering: car top camper.com
